All work and no play.....

....makes Peach a dull blogger. I've been working a lot of overtime and on my few days off trying to keep my house in order, so on top of not having time to write I really don't have anything interesting to post. I think this weekend is the last of the overtime and in December I will be back more frequently. Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Be back real soon!

Let there be Water

I have water again! Until you have to live without it, you never realize how much you depend on it. It seems my pump was cracked and finally just busted. Apparently it's been running constantly for a while, so my electric bill should be much lower. Final cost - $600. Well that's better than the $950 that he initially quoted me. I can finally take a showere! I feel so yucky. Nice thing is the water pressure seems to be much better too. I'm glad I got the overtime at work. Well let me go shower in this glorious water!

Murphy strikes again!

Well I finished my 7 days in a row working and thought I had 4 relaxing days off. Granted some house work needs to be done, but no, I come home to a major crisis. Turned on a water faucet in the kitchen and it spits and sputters then some black water comes out then it clears up but no pressure. All of the faucets do the same thing. Now I have no water. NONE! This is the pits! Can't do laundry, dishes, cook, shower. I can't even use the toilet! I'm not 100% sure what the problem is but I strongly suspect that a line from the well to the house froze and broke. I can't believe this! I'm finally starting to make a little headway with the overtime I've worked. Thought there would be a Christmas for my kids, then this happens. I have a friend coming to look at it this evening or tomorrow. He is a plumber and he used to live in this house. So hopefully he can at least isolate the problem. His wife strongly recommended I don't call the local plumbing company. She says they will rip me off and over charge me. Hopefully if her husband can't fix it he can at least recomend someone reliable, fair and honest. I just can't believe this is happening at this time. If something can go wrong.....it will! (Hence my title). Well I hope things are going better for all of you. Have a great day! And as a good friend of mine would say....."Happy, happy, joy, joy!"

Almost venison!

I know my heart quit beating for 10 minutes, at least. Driving home yesterday a deer ran out in front of me and I'm sure I brushed it's tail. Had I not hit my brakes I'm sure I would have gotten his/her rear end. I can't even tell you what it was. It was big and brown and leapt across the road. It's really not too unusual to hit one. Most people I know have at one time or another, but I don't want to be one of the statistics. I like my car and it's not paid for yet! Then moments later I almost hit a jogger. He was going the same way as me but in the other lane, against traffic. He saw some cars coming towards him and decided to cross the road. So he veered towards my lane and almost ran right in front of me. At the last minute he turned and saw me and sharply went the other direction. Geesh! What a drive home. Well, I got to bed late yesterday because of internet problems and this morning had to stop at the grocery store on my way home. 2 down - 5 to go! I just keep thinking about that check with the overtime, it will be worth it. At least I will be able to buy a little something to give the kids at Christmas. But it will give us all an opportunity to focus on the real meaning of the season. Later!

Living Will

Last night, my friend and I were sitting in the living room and I said to her, 'I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine and fluids from a bottle. If that ever happens, just pull the plug.' She got up, unplugged the Computer, and threw out my wine. She's such a bitch....

"O" well

Nothing we can do about it now, but hope and pray. I'm scared, I really am. I think this country has made a big mistake. I hope I'm wrong. I pray I'm wrong. Only time will tell.

Well, I had to let it out. But I hope it doesn't disuade any of you from visiting me. I would never hold political views against anyone.

On to other things......

My kittens kitten didn't make it. Vet said it could have something to do with the fact that the father of her kittens was actually her father. It was so cute though. Life can be cruel. But on the brighter side - we got a puppy. I don't think I've told y'all about her yet. She is a 5 month old Brittany Spaniel. She is a cutie, but a handful! Hyper little thing. Tootsie is already antagonizing her and they play chase. It is cute. I'll have to try and get a picture. I don't know what happened to my computer cord for my phone. I'll have to see if I can get a new one. Some of you posts pics and videos so easy. I am going to try to add a new feature in the side bar. We'll see how it goes.

It is a site that I use to listen to music. I can create stations that play the music I like. It's really cool.

My son is doing really well down in Panama City. He really likes it. He'll be starting the actual diving before too long. He is excited. And daughter continues to do well in school. She is in the top of her class for all her classes. She has a practical plan laid out and should be able to get into Nursing school in 2010. Youngest son is excited tonight. The long awaited release of one of his video games is tonight at midnight. He is going with a friend and his mom to stand in line and get it, then come home and play all night. Yes, I am letting him play hooky tomorrow. His grades are all good.

No new recipes lately. Haven't had the time. Finished painting my living room, finally. Also fixed the floor in my bathroom from when our last puppy chewed it up. It looks nice. Did the self-stick tile. Next project is the upstairs bathroom floor. Well, that's my update for now. Hope everyone is doing well!
