Ok, I will finally concede that Spring hs arrived. Today and yesterday were beautiful days. Temps finally warming up. The sun feels so good on my face. Rain tonight with possible thunderstorms, but that's ok.
I am sorry to say though that the nice weather brought on a sad incident. With warm temps come motorcycles. A friend of ours, that lives right around the corner, got out his bike for the first time this year and was on his way to meet his 2 kids for dinner, when he struck and killed a dog. The dog happened to be Zowie. She was a beautiful yellow lab that would have been a year old next week. She belonged to the owners of the golf club I work for. They also have a black lab. I have never seen these dogs go any where near the road. They always stay in the parking lot or somewhere on the course. They loved to ride in the golf carts! It was a real hoot to see the two of them in there. But apparently yesterday, Zowie saw a lady walking her dog on the opposite side of the street and ran out there and our friend Dave just happened to be riding by and couldn't avoid her. He really tried. He has a large Harley so all he could do was hit the brakes and then layed the bike down. He was not seriously hurt, as bad as motorcycle accidents can be, but his right arm and ankle are shattered and required surgery today where they were able to reconstruct it and put in pins. He felt terrible about hitting the dog. His bike ended up on the right side of the road but when emergency vehicles got there he had managed to crawl over to the other side of the road to be with the dog. Zowie apparently died on impact. I hope she didn't suffer. The family is really torn up. She was a part of the family. It won't be the same with out her around.
I worked today for a few hours at the course. Quite a few people came out. It was good to see all the regulars. I've missed them. Can't wait to actually get out there myself. Maybe this weekend. Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the nice weather. Hopefully next post will be a little happier.

Aaaawww! That is so sad! :(
Glad the biker is going to be okay tho.
Sorry about the dog; that's sad news.
But good news about the weather. Glad y'all are having some sunshine!
So lucky the motorcycle rider is OK. Many years ago (about 35) we had a distant family member in a very similar situation. The dog survived, sadly he didn't. This happened only one block from his home.
You are so fortunate to have nice weather. Rain is still the name of our game. e.v.e.r.y d.a.y!
peach, that's a tough reminder for everyone to be SUPER careful out there, now that the weather's warming up!!
Aww, how sad about the dog. I hope your friend is okay.
I pass the golf course every day and am looking forward to getting out there soon too. I wasn't able to make class this week but I was curious about what you thought about Matt 12:46.
Too bad about the dog, I'm glad your friend will be alright.
Oh, how sad for the dog.
I'm glad your friend wasn't hurt worse and recovers well.
Arlene, so good to hear from you! As I told everyone else, (not sure if you were there), in Jesus' time and language there was not a word for nephew, or male cousins. The only word they had for male relatives was "brother". There are many examples of this through out the bible. Also, it refers to "brothers in Christ" This is acknowledged be most theologians and even Martin Luther. Yes, it makes an argument for many who choose to believe it, but it really doesn't stand. We'll get together soon! Looking forward to playing some golf too!
Awww...I'm so sorry for all involved in this accident. How sad!
Also, I wanted to thank you for leaving such a sweet message on my blog. I've been meaning to write to you but just haven't gotten around tuit. Do you have one of those? =o) Been busy here, too, but wanted to let you know that I do think of you often and stop by to see what your up to. Good to hear that you've been just as busy! You know what they say about idle hands.....
~~hugs~~
That's so sad. I hope your friend recovers quickly.
That is indeed sad. We hate to lose pets especially to unnecessary accidents. Hope he recovers quickly.
Just coming by to wish you and your loved ones a very safe, blessed, and Happy Easter!
Have a blessed Easter!
Pat, just stopping by to wish you a joyous, blessed Resurrection day! Happy Easter!
