It's days like this that make being a parent so hard. No, the kids didn't get into any trouble. They are not driving me crazy. Nothing like that.
My daughter had her wisdom teeth taken out today and she is in SO much pain! I would gladly trade places with her if I could. She was not put to sleep for the procedure, which I am kind of glad of. She got a local with laughing gas. The doctor must have given her at least a dozen shots! Then during the procedure he hit a nerve or two and gave her some more. She had all 4 removed at once. Thank goodness, because had she only had two removed I would never be able to get her to go back to get the other two removed! The two top ones weren't too bad, but the bottom two were buggers! They were impacted and growing sideways, pressing on the molars. Laying right on top of the nerve at that. He (the doctor) had to drill and cut, drill and cut. They came out in pieces. He literally had to 'break' them up. Just the sound of it was enough to send chills down your spine! My daughter was a real trooper. She did really well and the dentist was really good with her. The worst part of it was when the Novocain started to wear off. He had given her a prescription for Vicatin and said she could take 2 to start out with, but it didn't seem to be doing any good at all! She was hurting SO bad. I felt terrible that there was nothing I could do for her. She is finally sleeping now on the sofa, but I suspect she will not sleep great tonight. She still has a lot of bleeding and we have to change the gauze, and she will need her medicine every 3-4 hours. I hope she's feeling better tomorrow.

It's so hard to be a Mom and see our children hurt. Sending a prayer for a speedy recovery for your daughter. When my daughter had her 4 wisdom teeth out we used the blender for food for a few days. Luckily the mouth heals fairly quickly.
May I add a link to your site on my blog?
Have a wonderful weekend!
Sue
My sister had hers out when we were college age and she was MISERABLE.....hers took quite a while to heal. Hope your daughter gets better quickly.
Bless her heart. Your post made my teeth hurt. I'm sure it is agonizing to see her like that. I hope today is a better day. At least she got it over with.
oh, peachy!! best wishes to you & your daughter!! i'm 41, and guess what? my dentist told me a few years ago that i never GOT wisdom teeth!! at the time, i thought it to be quite the INSULT, but since then, this type of thing changed my opinion!!!
I was fortunate to only have two wisdom teeth. I remember how painful it was to have them pulled. Sending lots of hugs to your poor baby. Hope she recovers quickly.
I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth taken out when I was 18...and was DUMB enough to go into work that nite!! Needless to say I didn't last every long, lol! Hugs to your daughter...it's miserable!!
i was one of the lucky ones. i had only one removed and the laughing gas made it all worth it. i was sorry i only had one after all the fun with the laughing gas.
I've never had to have ANY of my wisdom teeth pulled. Thank GOD!!!!
