I am blessed

I woke this morning to a beautiful sunrise. As I sat on the front porch, with a steaming cup of hot coffee and the cold morning air kissing my face, I couldn't help but think of all the blessings in my life. I don't live in a new, fancy large house, but I have a quaint old farm house that I call home. My husband and I have had our differences over the years, but I know he loves me. Three teenagers that try my patience to no end, but they are healthy, they know the difference between right and wrong and for the most part make good, moral choices. I have a loving, supportive family, who may live miles away, but in my time of need would be right by my side in a heartbeat. I have made some wonderful friends, some who I have moved away from but still keep in touch with, new ones here up north, and all of you that keep me smiling with your witty and humorous stories and stories of faith and inspiration. But mostly I am blessed to have my faith. Faith in a Father that loves me and gives me the ability to see and appreciate all that I have. All I have I give to Him, because He has given me all that I have.

Thank you Lord, Amen.

Thank you carla, but I can't really take credit for this pic. I just pulled it off of a google search. But it is lovely isn't it?
And I love my old farm house! Thanks for visiting!

Old farm houses are wonderful. I grew up in an old farm house. Now I live in a small log cabin, very cozy and homey!! Sitting on the porch with a warm coffee and reflecting is quite peaceful. Yes, you are blessed indeed. God is so good to us!

Hi,
I'm here via Miss Kris! Loved your morning photo. (Looks a bit chilly though!) I also enjoyed your wedding story. Twenty years is a wonderful accomplishment. I'll stop in again to visit.

Just dropping by.

I was wondering though, what code does one put in the template to create the "updated" phrase beside links when there is a new post at that site? I thought I might try it. It would be handy for checking things out when there is something new.

Were circumstances conducive, I would trade my new condo for an old farmhouse in a heartbeat!

What a lovely post, Pat. It's so inspiring to hear from people like you who have their priorities straight. I notice that those who are satisfied with what they have and who have faith seem to have the most serenity in their writing. I don't think that's a coincidence.

Have you counted your blessings lately - certainly seems so and they are many. What a beautiful place and time to sit and contemplate your blessings.

If you are counting all that as blessing, I guess I am in the same camp. A wonderful wife four great kids and two dogs and two cats. Its the three teenagers at home at once that may be the most challenging though.

Thanks for sharing those thoughts. They and the pic are beautiful. It's good to be reminded to pause for a moment and count the many blessings we have and not dwell on the stuff we don't have but want. What is it Ms. Crow sings in her song? "It's not getting what you want but wanting what you got." Something like that anyway.
