All is well in the universe. Well, at least in my son's universe. As I told you, his subwoofer and amplifier were stolen 2 days after Christmas. (We now know who did it and have the police investigating) Anyhow....I really felt bad for the kid. You have to understand me and Christmas. It is terribly important to me that my kids be excited about what they get. Don't take me wrong, they have always been very happy with what they have received and greatful, but it seems each year it is always 'one' childs special Christmas. My oldest has been difficult to make that accomplish. As the kids get older it is more difficult to get what they want short of a car or other high $$ item. My son, for over a year, has been hyped up about this stereo equip for his car (our car that he drives). He has been driving my husbands truck and there is NO way that my beloved other half was going to let that kind of equipment be installed into the truck. So.....it has not happened. Recently my husband bought a new car, a VW Jetta, and my son in now driving the Geo and we agreed he could do what he wanted with it. He never in a million years though thought that mom was cool enough to get a sub and amp. Or at least a decent one! So I proceeded to do a little educating myself on such matters and found a great deal on a 15" Audiobahn sub and 800 watt Pyle driver amp. He was in Heaven on Christmas morning!! Mom did pretty good. So when it was stolen, I was just as crushed as he was, if not more so.
I couldn't let this ruin it for him. It wasn't his fault. I still had money left from the Christmas budget so I replaced it for him. Things for the next couple of days went terrible, with electrical problems and mounting the stereo difficultings. It was terribly disappointing for a 17 yr old who is so anxious to get his stuff all hooked up. Seems one problem led to another. Well, to make a long story short (ok, so this isn't that short) he finally has it all hooked up and it sounds AWSOME!! At least to him. I don't pretend to understand the hype about feeling the sub 'hit' and feel the bass, but it is what teenagers are into. I don't try to 'get it'. But I am happy that he is happy.
So things are really Rockin' around here!

You're a great parent...
Well good for him and he does have a great Mom. I hope the police are able to tie the thief into the robbery.
